This space is a collection of my photography, creative work, and glimpses into my life. I am so glad you are here and interested in joining the journey.

My name is Kim Lawson, and I am the creator behind the Rugged Beauty Post. I am an artist, photographer and adventurer based in the Sierra Nevada, just outside Yosemite National Park. I am drawn to light, movement and storytelling, capturing life through my lens, paintbrush and pen. 

I have an extensive background working with Destination Marketing Organizations capturing images and developing content. My photography work has been featured by Visit California, Brand USA, Sunset Magazine, Visit Yosemite | Madera County, the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau, Nat Geo Your Shot, Tahiti Tourisme, US News & World Report, and AFAR among others. 

I created a snail mail club centered around art, connection, and the simple joy of receiving something in the mail. The idea began one day as I stood at my mailbox after opening a handwritten letter from my mother. We have always loved exchanging notes, and I was reminded how special it feels to hold something tangible in your hands. In that moment, I wondered if I could share that feeling with others. Also, I had stacks of art and photos that I was just shoving into dark corners. My sister suggested that I start a print club. With this platform, I aim to share that art, build connections, and spread inspiration and positivity.

When you join, you will receive a handwritten letter from me each month, along with a print of my art, a photography print and a few surprises from time to time.
